An alumnus of SRFTI, India in Motion Picture Photography, Sunny started working in the Camera Department in 2006 and went on to become an Independent Cinematographer in 2010. His first stint with producing came when he worked as an EP for two TV films in 2012. In 2017, he started working as a Producer and then a Writer with a desire to be involved with filmmaking in a more holistic manner.

He have been awarded the Kerala State Chalachitra Award for Cinematography for his work on the short film Panchabhuta which was also a part of 62nd Berlinale Shorts Official Competition. He was also awarded the Kodak Student Award for his work on Diploma film Color:Green in 2013. His most recent film Barah by Barah (12x12 Untitled) had its international premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival, 2021.
